Face To Face

Face to Face is an organization for women's rights, with the mission to fight for "freedom from discrimination and violence; the right to be treated equally to men; and the right to education, health care, employment, equity and political representation."

The Bulgarian branch of this organization helps fighting against human trafficking, as our country is one of the main sources of sex workers for Western Europe. At the moment Face to Face Bulgaria participates in the charity campaign Zaedno, with a project improving the social skills of disadvantaged children from institutions.

I was particularly impressed by this article about two Bulgarian women forced into prostitution in Great Britain.

Вечната

Сега е тя безкръвна и почти безплътна,
безгласна, неподвижна, бездиханна.
Очите са притворени и хлътнали.
и все едно - дали Мария, или Анна е,
и все едно - да молите и плачете, -
не ще се вдигнат тънките клепачи,
