Target Touched

i guess you may be wondering
what I want to do
kinda evasive sorta tentative

i'd like to touch your upper arm
help you hug your resilience
and lean on you for a fraction of a second

then i will caress your cheek
lose my awareness of empathy
and breathe in your lonely fragrance

last i would touch your temple
finger a thought or two
watch them morph into feelings

then i'll contain my desire
maintain the enchantment
and dream of your touch.

Wow, beautiful!

Maybe there is such thing as an ideal man (which a woman really needs), but mostly you have to do with a real man (which is not the same thing). Same thing the other way around of course ;)

You can then redefine "love" as "the illusion that a real person bears the same features as your ideal person".

And then you have "passion" (or okay, "lust") as "a mechanism of the body to override a possible awareness of the mind of the said discrepancy between real and ideal".

Also, "gluttony" for "an attempt to replace the negative emotions, related to the realization of the said discrepancy with the expectedly positive feelings of satisfied nutritionary needs of the body."

What else, "sloth" as "avoidance of bodily experiences caused by fear that they would associate with emotions and thoughts about the said discrepancy". I'd better stop now before having to rewrite the whole Bible ;)

Everything is "love" ;)
Just kidding of course.

Wow, how profound, and without a single word in Latin:P
On the topic of real and ideal - I guess I am an idealist who does not mind the discrepancy between real and ideal. The thing is, I *know* ideas are primary:P (I was labeled a Platonist some tine ago, but I prefer to think of myself as mere escapist.)

I like redefinitions and reinterpretations but was amazed to see how the poetic expression of my little action/inaction dilemma prompted a discussion of almost 50% of the seven deadly sins;) It's more about magical vs mundane, not unlike one of my favorite Elin Pelin's stories - 'Kosachi'. Daydreaming, enchantments, alternative realities ftw!

Thanks for your appreciation though:)
